Bruno Henry is a member of the Turtle Clan of the Cayuga Nation from the Six Nations of Grand River Reserve in Ontario. His current place of residence is on the Wikwemikong Indian Reserve located on Manitoulin Island. Highly regarded as a Native artist, craftsman, jeweller, and photographer, Bruno paints on canvas, water-colour paper, leather, deer and moose antler, abalone shell, and birch bark. In addition, he also does stone and antler carving, and has made rings out of antler. Most recently, he has been designing contemporary clothing out of deer and moose hides (buckskin). His fashions in textiles include beautifully embroidered shawls depicting native icons. Bruno Henry's intention is to touch people with his art and reveal the spiritual connection between Native people and the natural world, as well as the physical manner in which Native people engage with their environment.
